My Dear Cherished Darklings,
I hope you fall in love with my world as much as I have. Rose has been a critical part of me for years, and as we know, she isn't the most patient character; even on the best of days. She was dying for her story to come out, and so was I.
Writing has never been optional; like eating and breathing, it’s something integral to being alive. Every day, I’m thankful I’ve been lucky enough to make a career from something that brings me so much joy. I fell in love with a fantasy world. It showed me the beauty and wonder of the written word and the uniqueness of the individual mind. I had to be a part of it and I knew exactly who I would create first. I love that I get to write strong female characters and male hero's that would destroy the world to protect them and the dark and creepy characters that keep me up at night. Haven't I already said I'm lucky?
When I was younger I was always told that I had an overactive imagination, naturally I put my imagination to good use and slowly I started picking up notebook after notebook and filling them to the brim with the characters that lived within my mind and the scenes that would play out. A few may or may not have gotten me in trouble. I would write and my best friend would help me edit and encourage me.
With the love and support of my husband, sister, friends, mother and father, and grandparents, and my mother's wonderful students, I have been able to publish my first book. I love each of my readers and everyone who has made my dream possible.
